Are you a Specification Manager or similar with experience in technical sales within the construction industry, looking for an autonomous role where you can build relationships with architects, engineers and contractors, win major project specifications and convert them into sales?

Do you want to join a specialist construction products manufacturer that supplies innovative movement joint, fire protection and waterproofing systems to large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects, offering the opportunity to take ownership of your territory and play a key role in the company’s continued growth?

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with architects, structural engineers, façade consultants and main contractors to get products specified at the design stage. You will deliver CPD seminars and technical presentations, provide product advice, track projects through to construction and protect specifications against substitutions, ensuring opportunities are converted into orders.

This role would suit a Specification Manager or similar with at least 3 years’ experience in technical or specification sales within the construction industry, a proven track record of winning specifications and converting them into orders, and an established network of industry contacts. You will be looking to join a specialist manufacturer where you can take ownership of your territory and play a key role in driving business growth.

The role:

• Developing relationships with architects, structural engineers, façade consultants and main contractors to win new product specifications
• Delivering CPD seminars, lunch-and-learns and technical product presentations
• Providing technical advice on product selection, detailing and compliance
• Tracking projects from initial design through tender and construction to secure orders
• Managing quotations, following up opportunities and converting specifications into sales
• Maintaining CRM records and reporting on pipeline, specification wins and sales performance
• Representing the business at exhibitions, trade shows and industry events

The person:

• Specification Manager or similar
• At least 3 years’ experience in specification or technical sales within the construction industry
• Established network of architects, engineers and/or contractors
• Understanding of the UK construction process and RIBA Plan of Work stages
• Confident reading technical drawings and discussing product specifications
• Full UK driving licence and happy with regular travel
