Are you a Project Manager or similar with experience in the construction industry, looking to transition into an Estimating position within an established main contractor, offering full training and the opportunity to develop your career in a new direction?

Do you want to join a busy refurbishment and fit-out contractor specialising in industrial units and commercial premises, working with major pension and investment funds, where you can utilise your existing construction knowledge and project experience to develop into a fully-fledged Estimator?

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full tender process, attending site visits and learning to price specified works across a range of commercial and industrial refurbishment projects. You will work closely with the existing Estimating Department, completing Excel-based pricing spreadsheets, reviewing project specifications and gaining hands-on experience estimating projects ranging from £10K to £2 million.

This role would suit a Project Manager, Contracts Manager or similar with a strong background in construction, who is looking to transition into an Estimating position. You will be confident using computers and Excel, have a good understanding of construction costs and be looking for an opportunity to develop your technical estimating skills within an established business.

The role:

• Learning to manage and complete tender submissions from initial enquiry through to final pricing
• Attending site visits to assess and understand project requirements
• Developing the skills to estimate refurbishment and dilapidation projects ranging from £10K to £2 million
• Completing and managing Excel-based pricing spreadsheets
• Reviewing specifications and pricing works across industrial units and commercial premises
• Working alongside an experienced Estimating Department to develop your estimating knowledge
• Liaising with the Contracts Team to ensure successful tenders are handed over effectively

The person:

• Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Site Manager or similar
• At least 5 years’ experience within the building/construction industry
• Looking to transition into an Estimating position
• Good understanding of construction processes, materials and costs
• Full UK driving licence
• Commutable to Rochester
