Are you an experienced Service Manager, Aftersales Manager or Senior Service Controller with a background in construction machinery, plant or another engineering environment?

Do you want to take ownership of a service operation, leading engineers, managing customer relationships and driving the efficient delivery of aftersales support across multiple sites?

This expanding machinery solutions business specialises in supplying, servicing and supporting construction equipment across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Service Manager to oversee their service operations across the region.

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service function, coordinating engineers, prioritising workloads and ensuring customers receive a high level of service. You’ll work closely with Parts, Sales and senior management to ensure jobs are delivered efficiently, while monitoring costs, productivity, warranty work and overall service performance.

The role will be based around Corby, with regular travel required to company sites in Suffolk and Newark-on-Trent. This is a hands-on management position suited to someone who understands the operational demands of a machinery or engineering service environment and is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the service department across multiple sites
• Lead, support and coordinate a team of Service Engineers and field-based technicians
• Plan and prioritise engineer workloads, breakdowns, servicing and scheduled maintenance
• Allocate jobs and resources to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently
• Act as a senior point of contact for key customers, handling service issues and escalations
• Monitor service performance, productivity, labour utilisation and job profitability
• Oversee service jobs from initial booking through to completion and invoicing
• Regularly visit and support company sites across Suffolk and Newark-on-Trent

The Person:

• Proven experience within a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, Service Supervisor or Senior Service Controller position
• Experience within construction plant, heavy machinery, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles or another engineering environment
