Are you a Mechanical Engineer with a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering looking for a long-term career where you can develop beyond the tools?

In this role, you will support and assess Mechanical Engineering apprentices through both practical workshop activities and workplace-based learning. You’ll help learners develop their technical skills, monitor their progress, carry out assessments and provide guidance throughout their apprenticeship. Full training and funding will be provided to gain recognised teaching and assessor qualifications, making this an excellent opportunity to transition into education.

This role would suit a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Engineer with a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, looking to move into a training and assessing role with full support, outstanding work-life balance and excellent long-term career prospects.

The Role:

  • Train and assess Mechanical Engineering apprentices
  • Deliver practical workshop-based learning and technical support
  • Carry out workplace assessments and monitor learner progress
  • Provide feedback, coaching and guidance to apprentices
  • Support curriculum delivery and apprenticeship programmes
  • Gain fully funded teaching and assessor qualifications

The Person:

  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Mechanical Engineer or similar background
  • Looking to progress into a Trainer / Assessor role
  • Commutable to Workington
