In this role, the successful CAD/CAM Configuration Engineer or similar will be responsible for supporting product realisation from concept through manufacturing by applying computer‑aided design and manufacturing technology. In addition, you will also be responsible for generating and maintaining both 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings in accordance with customer and internal specifications alongside development of CAM programmes for CNC machining centres to support prototype and production manufacturing. On top of this, you will also be responsible for optimising machining strategies to improve cycle times, accuracy, and surface finish as well as liaising with production teams to provide tooling guidance, setup sheets, and process documentation. Finally, you will be responsible for maintaining data integrity in CAD/CAM libraries, version control, and technical documentation.

The ideal CAD/CAM Configuration Engineer or similar will have previous working experience within a CAD/CAM Configuration Engineer or a related position. In addition, you will also have a proficiency within mainstream CAD/CAM Programmes (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam etc…). On top of this, you will also have experience creating CNC programmes for 3‑axis and multi‑axis machining, as well as a good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards. Finally, you will have strong organisational, analytical, and communicational skills, with the confidence to work both as part of a team, and autonomously.

  • Supporting product realisation from concept through manufacturing

  • Development of CAM programmes for CNC machining centres

The Person:

  • Previous working experience within a CAD/CAM Configuration Engineer or a related position
  • Proficiency within mainstream CAD/CAM Programmes
  • Experience creating CNC programmes
