In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the companies Road Freight operations. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be responsible for developing and executing growth plan, pricing strategies, service offerings etc… In addition, you will also be responsible for monitoring both operations and performance, overseeing the end-to-end road freight operations, including, but not limited to; cross-border, regional, time-sensitive, and specialist cargo movements alongside ensuring operational delivery meets contractual service levels, cost targets, and compliance with transport regulations. On top of this, you will be responsible for both team and supplier management, as well as commercial and client leadership/liaison. Finally, you will be responsible for both compliance and risk management.

The ideal Road Freight Specialist (Head of Road Freight) or similar, will have extensive experience within Road Freight Solutions, coming from a background within the Logistics/Freight Forwarding Industry. In addition, you will also have an in-depth knowledge of road transport networks, carrier markets, and compliance frameworks etc… On top of this, you will have a proven track record of driving results in planning, operational delivery, and strategic freight initiatives alongside experience in managing cross-border/regional transport operations. Finally, you will have strong organisational, communicational and analytical skills, as well as a full, valid UK driver’s license.

The Role:

• Lead the Road Freight operations
• Monitoring both operations and performance
• Development and Implementation of Road Freight Procedures/Strategies

The Person:

• A background in Logistics/Freight Forwarding – specifically Road Freight
• Previous experience as a Road Freight Specialist
• In depth knowledge of cross-border/regional transport operations and UK transport systems
