Are you an Electrical Design Engineer or Solar PV Design Engineer with experience designing photovoltaic systems, looking to join a rapidly growing business working on large-scale new-build residential and commercial developments?

The company are a rapidly growing specialist in solar PV solutions, delivering renewable energy systems across new-build residential and commercial developments.

With a strong focus on technical quality, compliance and innovation, the business is continuing to expand its Design and Technical function and is looking for an Electrical PV Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering safe, commercially practical and buildable solar PV designs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Solar PV Design Engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and wants to take ownership of designs from initial concept through to construction, as-built information and final handover.

The Role:

• Design grid-connected residential and commercial solar PV systems from concept through to construction and handover
• Produce AC and DC electrical designs for microinverter and string-inverter systems
• Complete cable sizing, voltage-drop, cable-loss and protective-device calculations
• Produce electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, distribution-board schedules and equipment layouts
• Develop coordinated roof, array, inverter, string and electrical containment layouts
• Translate architectural drawings, roof plans, house types and energy requirements into accurate, plot-ready design packages

The Person:

• Experience in Electrical Design, Solar PV Design or a similar technical engineering role
• Knowledge of BS 7671 and UK electrical regulations
