Bedford – Bedfordshire Patch

Are you a Generator Engineer looking to join a leading power generation company that offers unlimited overtime, excellent career progression, manufacturer training, and door-to-door pay while covering a local patch?

This is an opportunity to join a leading international power generation specialist established in 1985. With over 200 employees, the business designs, manufactures, installs and maintains CHP, gas engine, biogas, landfill gas and battery storage systems, helping industrial and public sector clients improve energy efficiency while reducing emissions.

In this role, you will carry out planned servicing, breakdown repairs and fault finding on diesel and gas-powered generator systems across customer sites throughout Bedfordshire. You’ll diagnose both mechanical and electrical faults, complete preventative maintenance, produce service reports and work closely with customers to maximise equipment uptime and first-time fix rates.

This role would suit a Generator Engineer with experience working on diesel generators, gas generators, CHP or other standby power equipment, looking for a stable role offering door-to-door pay, plenty of overtime and genuine career progression.

The Role:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on diesel and gas-powered generators across Bedfordshire
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using onsite and remote diagnostics
  • Service generators and associated equipment in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records and timesheets
  • Build strong relationships with customers to maximise equipment reliability and uptime

The Person:

  • Experience servicing diesel generators, gas generators, CHP systems or similar power generation equipment
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • Recognised engineering qualification (Level 2 or above)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Happy to participate in an on-call rota
