Are you a Service Engineer/Diesel Mechanic or similar with a background in industrial diesel engines, or similar, looking for a challenging role in a well-respected marine engineering business who specialise in high performance, critical diesel engines.

Do you want to work for a business who values its employees as well as offer excellent short- and long-term career opportunities.

On offer is the chance for a Service Engineer/Diesel Mechanic or similar to join a highly skilled, supportive team delivering service, repair, and maintenance of large marine diesel powertrains across the world. Founded in the 80’s, this business has grown to become a well-respected and go-to business for some of the largest names in the marine and offshore industries.

The position is field based around the UK and further afield, including offshore assignments, where you will work on rigs and related platforms (with offshore trips limited to a maximum of 21 consecutive days). While in the UK, you’ll service engines and systems at ports, often on fishing vessels and other marine plant.

In this role, the successful Service Engineer/Diesel Mechanic would be based in their Colchester workshop with occasional travel to customer sites. The main responsibilities would be to repair and maintain a range of marine equipment, and high-performance critical diesel engines.

This role would suit a mechanically minded engineer or technician from a marine, HGV, plant, or diesel background, looking for full industry training, and a career that offers diverse hands-on work, and long-term development in a growing industry.

THE ROLE:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on medium-speed diesel engines and marine power systems.
  • Work on a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Support diagnostics and fault-finding on industrial and marine engines.
  • Prepare accurate service reports and maintain documentation in line with ISO and HSE standards.
  • Occasional travel across the UK and offshore, with training and support provided throughout.

THE PERSON:

  • Junior Marine Engineer with a background in industrial diesel engines or similar.
  • Full UK driving licence.
