Stock/ Yard Operative
£35,000 – £40,000 + Bonus + Training + Long-Term Opportunity
Swindon

Are you a Yard/ Stock Operative looking for a stable, Monday-Friday role with consistent hours and overtime opportunities? Do you want to work for a well-established company in the utility industry that offers training, progression, and long-term security

On offer is the opportunity to join a leading contractor within the utilities industry, delivering high-quality services across specialised coatings, maintenance, and new projects. The company operates across civil, mechanical, and electrical activities and prides itself on safety, quality, and efficiency.

In this hands-on, yard-based role, you will prepare plant and vehicles to ensure everything leaving the yard is clean, tidy, and fully serviceable. On return, vehicles and equipment will need emptying, and any faulty plant must be serviced, sent for repair, and clearly labelled as ready for use or quarantined. Organisation and tidiness are essential, as the stores must be clearly defined and easy for the operations team to use. You will be a key part of ensuring spray pump machinery and other equipment is prepared efficiently, while also carrying out yard tasks such as safe forklift operation, loading and unloading, and maintaining all machinery to a high standard for site readiness.

This role would suit a Yard/ Stock Operative who is confident working with machinery, holds a forklift licence, and is looking for a long-term position.

The Role:

  • Service, maintain, fault-find, and repair spray pump machinery, carrying out preventative maintenance as required
  • Prepare, inspect, test, and move equipment prior to site use, including safe forklift operation
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised yard and workshop environment
  • Support site and workshop teams as required – 45-hour week, Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)

The Person:

  • Stock/Yard Operative or similar
  • Forklift licence required
  • Commutable to Swindon
