Do you have experience or knowledge of welding / fabrication, and management experience, looking to step into a unique role where you will be heading up a well-established provider of bespoke fabrication and welding services which has recently been acquired by an ambitious, multi-faceted engineering organization, currently looking to embark on aggressive growth plans, running a small but highly skilled workshop team, with a focus on continuous improvement; striving for excellence?

On offer is a pivotal role, for a specialist company which supplied to a diverse portfolio of clients within industries sch as Rail and Construction. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers, welders and fabricators, cultivating a culture of innovation and collaboration. You will also collaborate with clients to fully understand specifications, managing multiple projects simultaneously, as well as driving continuous improvement and quality assurance.

The role:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, welders and fabricators, providing direction and guidance, setting clear KPI’s for production
• Manage and plan projects, working closely with clients to understand specific requirements, review project specifications and develop detailed fabrication and welding plans, then allocating appropriate resources to ensure projects can be delivered within time and budget
• Establish QA processes and procedures, whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Identify potential suppliers, and monitor their performance ongoing
• Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiency and productivity, and reduce cost

The person:

• Background or hands on experience with welding / fabrication
• Experience as a Technical Manager, Production Manager, General Manager or similar
