This role would suit a Quality Assurance Engineer/Compliance Engineer from a household/consumer product manufacturing background looking to work for an international manufacturing group, exceptional training and personal development and an opportunity to progress to a leadership role.
Monitoring and assessing applicable legislation, industry standards and other relevant requirements in countries where products are manufactured and sold;
Monitoring and assessing commercial customer policies, supplier manuals and other stated requirements;
Advising the business teams on all aspects of the above that require their specific attention and actions;
Developing and maintaining the policies, procedures, product assessment processes, factory assessment processes, and other controls required to ensure compliance, and ensuring their implementation;
Liaising with external agencies including Government departments, enforcement authorities, certification bodies, trade associations, test laboratories, commercial customers, and other relevant parties with regard to ensuring all obligations are met;
Providing compliance advice to other internal departments, including product procurement and development following the ‘design to comply’ principle; creating risk assessments for all new and existing product.
Advising senior management on all aspects of the above, including the preparation of regular written reports;
Responsible for all aspects of CSR, across all vendors and the company. Creation of company policies in line with all relevant business legislation and the implementation of these in programmed approach across the vendor base;
