Reporting directly to the Metal Shop Supervisor the purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and oversee the manufacture of sheet metal components and maintain quality control over the items produced.

The individual must have a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of metal shop processes, procedures & controls to ensure components are manufactured to specification within the given tolerances.

The role:

  • Ensure that product quality is maintained and that all manufactured components are manufactured within the tolerances stated
  • Monitor and progress work within the department in line with the scheduled requirements
  • Responsibility for signing off completed work
  • Allocate labour as required to meet the production schedule and work closely with the production supervisor to ensure targets on key measures are achieved. This will include requesting and organising overtime in line with business demands
  • Supervision, training & development of personnel to ensure seamless provision of service from your department

The person:

  • Sheet metal or fabrication manufacturing experience
