Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with FEA experience looking to join a specialist manufacturer of high-quality, bespoke equipment for the power and renewables sectors, where you will work on cutting-edge design and development of large HV motors, generators and rotating equipment, in a fully autonomous role?

The company are also part of a wider group, where you will have the opportunity to be involved with multi-disciplinary projects across diverse industries such as steel production, mining, and the design of earth-moving equipment.

You will be a key member of the Design Team, fully utilising your design and development expertise to work on projects from conception to completion, throughout the design and production processes.

You will be a key member of the Engineering team, adding your mechanical know-how to the design specification, with a drive for continual improvement. You will be making a direct positive impact upon society, assisting clients within the Renewables / Power Generation sectors to advance their technical ability, thereby increasing their capacity to supply renewable energy across the world.

The role:

  • Ensure designs meet client requirements and mandatory compliance
  • Support the Sales Team from a design perspective, to win tenders and bids for new work
  • Produce design calculations and proof and fatigue FE analysis for approvals and design verification
  • Build and manage 3D models, the production of parts lists and manufacturing engineering drawings in line with company quality requirements
  • Produce designs of products that can be manufactured efficiently, economically and create value
  • Work closely with Production, to ensure designs can be manufactured in line with Production capabilities
  • Support site services in the field during the construction, testing and rectification work
  • Produce technical reports in relation to design, manufacturing, qualification and regulatory requirements

The person:

  • Mechanical design engineering background
  • Experience with FEA
  • Any design experience with rotating equipment
