As a Fire Systems Engineer you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the Fire Safety policy and strategy.

Your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with industry standards, legislation, and our internal Code of Practice.

You will identify opportunities for growth and improvement in fire safety and work on cost-effective solutions to achieve both short-term and long-term goals.

This is a day role with some weekend work on a rota basis, and you may be contacted at any time (day and night) for technical guidance or rapid response to fire suppression system incidents.

The Role:

• Implementing operational and maintenance policies for fire detection and suppression systems
• Managing and auditing contractors to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Effectively communicating with business units to ensure proper notification of system defects to insurers and local fire authorities
• Advising business units on fire safety legislation, risk assessment, and training requirements
• Tendering and negotiating service contracts for fire safety equipment
• Leading and carrying out fire investigations and preparing reports with recommendations

The Person:

• Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems and relevant legislation
