Are you a software engineer with knowledge and experience of embedded systems, looking to join a company which saves lives, drives innovation and prides itself on technical industry leading training, where you will be in a senior, pivotal role, working directly with the CTO to develop technical solutions to support the business’ roadmaps?
Do you have experience with embedded software design applications, looking to step into a highly autonomous management position, where you will be working closely with the software and hardware teams on cutting edge R&D, where no two projects are the same, and your role will have a direct positive impact upon society?
On offer is the opportunity to join a well-established, specialist manufacturer of life saving beacons for the land and maritime industries, which follows through a full product lifecycle; from inception through to obsolescence. You will be working for an outstanding global organisation, which is currently looking to grow and expand its operations in the U.K. You will be responsible for research into new technology and techniques for inclusion in future company products, working very closely with the CTO and Project Managers on technical solutions. You will also provide technical support to the R&D engineers and project teams, particularly at design reviews or when technical issues occur. You will assist with the management of a team, in a highly senior role within the company.
The role:
- Supporting CTO with new product development roadmap
- Provide technical assistance to the Project Teams, ensuring existing products and projects are on track
- Assess new technologies and techniques relevant to company products, make suggestions for inclusion in future design
- Manage a small team of software engineers, carrying out reporting and tracking progress to ensure projects are progressing within the expected timeframe
- Play an integral part in the concept development phase of new products; developing specifications and design approaches with the CTO and development team
- Develop and direct software programming, testing procedure and documentation
- Derive software development and test requirements
The person:
- Experience with Embedded software design (C++)
- Any management or supervisory experience
