£70,000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Work from Home in the UK + Holiday + Pension + Autonomy

Southampton (Primarily Remote / 2 days required in office per month)

Do you have a background selling into Aerospace, looking to join a market leading manufacturer of cutting edge polymer based products, supplying into leading Aerospace clients such as Boeing and Airbus, where you will have full autonomy to lead the Business Development function of a rapidly growing business, in a hugely versatile role which you can make your own?

Are you looking to promote highly engineered and technically advanced bespoke solutions, working with clients across the globe with the ability to work primarily remotely with some travel to the office, and travel internationally (primarily USA) approximately 10 times a year, where you will be driving new business activities for the company, as well as managing and growing key accounts?

On offer is the opportunity to retain full control of your working day, with the ability to work from home anywhere in the UK with occasional internation travel to North America and Europe (average of 3 days per month).

The company have been established since 2001, set up by an inspired team of highly experienced polymer engineers. They provide a range of products, solutions and services in the aircraft seal and general polymer engineering space. Currently experiencing an increasing demand for their products and solutions, they are now looking to find a Business Development Manager who is going to add value in the long term.

You will be responsible for driving new business activities, promoting the company’s range of products and services, as well as managing global key accounts. You will work closely with the Managing Director to develop ongoing strategy and growth plans, adding huge value to a rapidly advancing organization. Typically your work will be split with a 70% focus on new business, and 30% focus on growing key accounts.

The Role:

  • Promoting and selling polymer products and services to clients within Aerospace
  • Build relationships across all levels within existing customers and prospective target accounts to generate new business opportunities
  • Achieve Sales Targets established with the MD
  • Generate and convert projects for key target customers
  • Manage project cycles and velocity
  • Pursue sales leads, visit existing and new strategic customers to grow key accounts and build new relationships
  • Build customer relationships and strategic partnerships, assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services; respond to complex customer inquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times, and win sales orders to meet sales targets
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective target growth customers that will generate future sales and repeat business
  • Promote standard and bespoke engineered solutions
  • Develop short and long-term strategic sales plans for key customers, growth customers and global key accounts
  • Establish customer action plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so sales and profit targets are met
  • Travel requirements (including overnight travel)
  • Travel will include local, national and international requirements for customer visits and, business meetings and/or tradeshows

The Person:

  • Experience selling into Aerospace
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering & a technical background
  • Happy with Nationwide and International travel
  • Full Driving License
